LONG TERM
Long-term market trends: Long-term trends are the pulse of the marketplace. As a product manager, you observe these trends and decide whether to act on them or ignore them in your pricing decisions.
The long-term market trends provided in the pricing cases are the same for all the products. To assist you in making your pricing decisions, the company's market research department has summarized the relevant trends and their potential impacts on the unit cost of products.
Make or buy: Some parts and associated activities for the products could be brought from a high-quality supplier instead of making those in-house. Buying from the supplier will lower the unit cost by 10%. Currently, few competitors are using outsourcing, but the trend is likely to continue in the long run.
Customer service: Some firms in the industry are following a “customer is always right” strategy and providing a 100% satisfaction guarantee in the form of no question asked refund for dissatisfaction, subsidized in-home services and delivery etc. If we adopt the enhanced customer service strategy, it will increase the unit cost by 20%, and the trend is expected to stay.
Automation: There is an opportunity to automate some activities, which will save 30% of product unit cost. Big Data Analytics: Some specialized companies offer big data analytics services for the products we sell. The services provide insights and evidence on customers’ choices, preferences, gaps in the market etc. If we buy these services, it will increase unit product cost by 5%. Many organizations are using these services to stay relevant in the marketplace.

Market Index: The market index refers to the strength of demand and competition. The market index for a particular product can vary between two extremes. At one extreme, where the strength of demand is high and competition is weak, you could set HIGHER prices for more profitable per unit sales or COMPETITIVE prices to attract a large number of customers for maximum market share and maximum profit.

How to develop a strong character.

Although everyone’s character differs and you should definitely be yourself, sometimes we have to change some of our not-so-desirable habits. The way we communicate with other people should occur in a manner so that we won’t harm other people’s feelings and we respect their views.
While there are certain characteristics in our personalities we can’t alter, it is possible to bolster positive traits or characteristics by following certain guidelines. Below are ten characteristics of a strong personality that every person can develop; even if you are an introvert.
Self-discipline
Most people with strong character are highly disciplined. Self-discipline is so hard to develop that it can almost be considered a superpower. While becoming a master of self-discipline can take a considerable amount of time, the results are positive benefits to almost every aspect of your life. Thankfully the first step is actually quite simple and starts with recognizing the things that tempt you and figuring out healthy ways to avoid, or not give into them.
Every single person fails at some point when trying to change their habits or adapting to a new lifestyle, so forgiving yourself for your mistakes and choosing to try again instead of simply giving up is important. Getting back up and then trying again is the difference between those who ultimately succeed in achieving their personal goals, and those who don’t.
Self-control
Self-control is the power to acknowledge our weaknesses and change our reactions in order to prevent undesirable responses, increase positive emotions, and accomplish long-term goals. Most people who are self-controlled are able to balance what they need versus what they want, which ensures that they are not too over or under indulgent.
When you want to establish a strong personality, establishing self-control works wonders. Whenever it’s time to walk away from a bad habit such as starting a diet or quitting smoking, most of us find out just how bad our sense of self-control really is.
Although battling your own biology is a relatively advanced challenge for us all, it doesn’t have to be that difficult to develop some level of self-control. By splitting your goals into smaller targets and reaching them one at a time, everyone can learn to practice and strengthen their self-control.
Self-esteem
We have been trained from an early age to be modest, be mindful of showing off, and not to brag too much about our accomplishments. This is true most of the time because overdoing it may cause a sense of entitlement, which no one wants to be around. On the other hand, not enough can cause depression, tolerance of toxic relationships, and lack of ambition. And you will need to have a higher level of self-esteem in order to have the strength to eventually achieve your goals in life.
With practice, anyone is capable of mastering these traits. You don’t have to change who you are during your quest to improve yourself, but rather look at it as augmenting the good traits you already have.

How Do You Score A Fragrance’s Strength?
When testing fragrances for our numerous reviews, we score a cologne’s strength based on three parameters:
- Projection: From how far can the fragrance be smelled.
- Sillage: The trail the fragrance leaves behind the wearer.
- Longevity: How long the fragrance lasts before fading.
Using our Bespoke Unit Fragrance Formula, each of these factors are then scored out of 5, which accounts for 15% of the fragrance’s total score. This allows us to compare the results against other fragrances and see how well they perform.
In the list above, we have included the fragrances that offer the best longevity but also have well-performing sillage and projection. After all, a fragrance that lasts all day isn’t much use if it doesn’t have any wake and strength. This is why some may have a longevity of 4 rather than 5.
Similarly, we have taken the overall score into account so to avoid added fragrances that are otherwise poor.
How We Test The Projection.
In order to properly test a fragrance’s projection, we apply it onto ourselves or a partner. That partner will then approach us from a distance of 5 metres and tell us when they begin to smell the cologne. We’re then able to consistently rate it out of 5.
In order to ensure fairness, this is repeated by a number of other team members at Bespoke Unit so we can have an average score. If a partner is not available, it is applied onto a surface in a room. The tester will then approach it slowly and stop when they begin to smell it.
How We Test The Sillage
Testing the sillage is quite simple but works by measuring time rather than distance. Here, it’s easy to test this factor alone without a partner. Using an empty and clean room with closed windows, we spray the fragrance twice in the air.
We then leave the room and close the door behind us. We then check back in the room regularly over a period of 10 minutes to see if it is still present. To ensure that the palate cleanses between tests, we drink some water and leave regular breaks of about a minute each.
If a fragrance can still be smelled after 10 minutes, it’s on the very high end of the scale.
How We Test The Longevity
One of the most time-consuming parts of a review, we find ways of integrating this into our daily routine. We begin the day by applying some of the fragrance on the arm or the back of the hand.
Ideally, the arm is better as the hands require frequent washing. However, when wearing long sleeves, the hand might be necessary. Alternatively, we sometimes apply the fragrance onto a surface, which is visited throughout the day.
During an 8-hour period (a typical working day), the fragrance is regularly tested to ensure it is still present. Once it has faded, a note is taken of the time and it is graded out of five.
In order to not affect the results of the test, we don’t wear any other fragrances nor do we apply this one elsewhere on ourselves. Because the nose will eventually become used to it, only the hand or a surface is sprayed so it can be checked without being omnipresent.

I like Versace (Chrome). I have it on today at a Christmas party. I’ve had several compliments. I also bought Prada & Yves St Laurent. I take turns wearing but the Versace is going the fastest. Anyone else like it?

How is Davidoff Champion in terms of projection?

It’s pretty average. You’ll probably get between 3 to 5 hours, which isn’t too bad for something so focused on citrus. If you’re looking for performance, it wouldn’t be our first choice.

Have you guys tested Prada Carbon ? they tell me it is similar to Sauvage; what do you guys think of Carbon ?

I briefly tried it and yes, there’s a distinctive similarity. Both feature similar notes such as the lavender, pepper, ambroxan, and bergamot. While Sauvage is leans more towards amber notes, Carbon is quite heavy on the bergamot.
As for their performance, since we’re here, they’re both quite similar and give good all-round performance. However, I feel that Sauvage has better projection later in the day whereas Carbon is more of a skin scent.

Aventus smells incredible, I own 2 bottles of it. BUT based on my experience it absolutely does not belong on a list of “long lasting” fragrances. Fragrances rarely last long on me, while even more rarely last long AND smell good to me. The only ones I have found to last a long time and smell good to me are:
