Luggage is sometimes lost or arrives long after you do.
To avoid problems, some people travel light and carry
on everything. At the very least, take one complete
change of clothing, basic grooming items, and any regular
medication aboard with you. Because airlines will not
replace valuable jewelry when paying for lost luggage, it
should be carried on your person. Safer yet, select one set
of basic, simple jewelry that can be worn everywhere—
even in the shower—and wear it during your whole trip.
Remember, carry-on bags must be small enough to fit in
overhead bins or to slide under your seat.
